Activities
We support and encourage cycle racing and touring at all levels.
Club Runs
Every Sunday morning our club run sets off from Handforth.
We typically cover about 70 miles with a short lunch stop to return by late afternoon.
We also have an easier Saturday run that sets off from Handforth at midday and covers about 50
flat miles at a steady pace.
History
The club was created in Manchester in 1942 by the amalgamation of 6 other Manchester cycling clubs to keep local
cycling alive during the war years.
It was seen as a temporary measure and at that time no one expected that we would still be thriving into the
21st. century.
Alumni
Our most celebrated member is Graham Jones, who joined the club as a 15-year old in 1972 and went on to a glittering racing career, riding in 5 Tours de France.
Size
At the present time we have around 50 members of all ages including some of the original founder-members.
